Village Shires
Anthony has worked as the Association Manager for Village Shires since relocating from NYC in November of 2001. In NYC, he had worked as Buildings Manager for the Collegiate Church Corp., more formally known as the Minister, Elders and Deacons of the Dutch Reformed Church of the City of New York. As Buildings Manager of the Collegiate properties, Anthony managed the everyday operations of 13 commercial buildings located in the business district in lower Manhattan, and brings with him knowledge in all phases of day to day Operations as well as Project Management, Capital Improvement work, Budgeting, and Strategic Planning. He worked for the Collegiate Church Corp. for over nine years and moved here after FEMA had declared his penthouse uninhabitable after the World Trade Towers were hit on 9/11. The penthouse was located in one of the buildings owned by the Church and was a part of Anthony’s compensation. It was located on the corner of Broadway and John St. just a short distance from ground zero. As part of Anthony’s normal daily routine in NY, he interfaced directly with Architects on building design and NYC code issues as well as Engineers for structural matters and, of course, Collegiate’s Property Attorneys whenever legal issues arose.
While working in NYC, Anthony has taken Property Management classes offered by the Building Owners and Managers Institute, a part of BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association). Classes in Design, Operation and Maintenance of Building Systems #1 and #2, Real Property Accounting, Property Managers Guide to Commercial Real Estate Law, Real Estate Investment and Finance, and Asset Management.
As Association Manager for the Village Shires Community Association, Anthony manages a very complex site that measures over 300 acres and consists of eight different Associations and 1593 homeowners. Anthony reports to eight different Association Boards and has used his experience gained in NYC to handle more than a few projects of decent size. Through the knowledge and experience gained in Property Management, Anthony has made a smooth transition to Community Association Management and he too brings a rather unique blend of experience to our team.
